He received his B.E. degree from Seoul National University and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, in 1986 and 1990, respectively.

Since 1991, he has been affiliated with Soongsil University, Seoul, Korea, where he is currently a Full Professor in the Department of AI Convergence. He has continuously contributed to education and research in artificial intelligence and computer science, and since 2015, he has been actively leading advanced AI convergence initiatives within the department.

In addition to his academic career, he is the CTO and Founder of Cublick Digital, an AI-driven technology company focused on building next-generation intelligent systems, enterprise AI platforms, and data-centric AI solutions. Under his leadership, Cublick Digital integrates cutting-edge research with real-world applications across multiple industries.

His research interests include agentic AI, multimodal large language models (LLMs), autonomous AI systems, and AI-powered digital marketing, with a strong emphasis on bridging academic research and industrial innovation.
